Dear Reader,
I am writing in response to the article "Nederland Night Skies" by Frank Sanders and atmospheric scientist Dr. Cartagena Orthman-Ortega in last week's paper (May 2, 2024 edition).
I am very impressed that The Mountain-Ear would publish such a hard-hitting, clearly written, honest appraisal of where we are in terms of climate change — the April power outages, and the future consequences of ignoring our burning of fossil fuels. This slow-moving train wreck that we are all involved in, partially responsible for, and mostly oblivious to, is a true existential threat to this fragile wonderful planet that we call “home.”
Thank you to the authors and to The Mountain-Ear for putting out truth instead of pablum.
