Dear Editor,

Another community gathering event has returned! Please join me in recognizing the organizers of this very labor-intensive event, Danielle Knollenberg- event organizer, Michelle LaPointe -TeamTurkey volunteer coordinator and Nate James- kitchen captain! These folks called in scores of others to cook turkeys, peel the potatoes, prepare the stuffing , mashed potatoes and gravy. They solicited donations from our local restaurants and community so folks could share a meal together. They coordinated volunteers to work the kitchen and the food line. Did you taste those mashed potatoes? Wow, just wow. And the best part, I was blessed to sit with a couple who moved here a couple weeks ago. They said this is the kind of community they wanted, it felt like home. That makes all the planning and work for this event worth it.
