Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County. On Monday, September 22, Timberline Fire Protection District Chairman of the Board Jim Crawford announced that chief Chris Jennings has handed in his resignation, effective immediately.
Jennings had been employed as Chief of the District from December 1st , 2011. His resignation was official on September 17th, 2014.
The Timberline Fire Protection District Board of Directors moved to appoint Christopher Schimanskey as Acting Fire Chief. Schimanskey was acting chief before the board hired Jennings
On Monday, September 22nd, a special meeting was held to develop a plan in order to advertise and hire a new full-time Chief for the District.
Crawford says that Jennings was put on Administrative Leave as of September 10. He did not give a reason for the action.
Crawford says, "Timberline Fire Protection District is moving forward and wishes Mr. Jennings the very best of luck."
