TEENS, Inc. has taken on the responsibility to oversee and coordinate Nederland’s longest standing road race. TEENS, Inc. approached Jen Lavely, the Neder-Nederland coordinator since 2011, in September after reading that the 2014 race will not be taking place because of numerous challenges. In October, the TEENS, Inc. board of directors approved the idea of taking on the popular road race and last week TEENS, Inc. and Ms. Lavely officially transferred responsibility.
“TEENS, Inc. is excited to take on this fun event and believe it will help us offer more and more healthy and educational activities for youth in this community. We hope to build on the success of all the volunteers that have made this event possible over its long history,” says TEENS, Inc. Executive Director, Stephen LeFaiver. “We plan to continue to engage the entire community in building the event into something we are all proud of.”
“I am so excited to pass the Neder-Nederland torch to TEENS, Inc.,” says Jen. “I believe it is in good hands to not only continue but thrive.”
