On January 14, 2022, at 12:07 a.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a phone call regarding an assault that took place in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street Nederland. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office covers the law enforcement duties of the town overnight and responded to the call.
The victim, a 34-year-old male, was assaulted and sustained serious bodily injury. The victim was taken to a hospital via ambulance. The suspect, a 31-year-old, fled before law enforcement arrived.
The morning of January 15, shortly after 6 a.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a call for a welfare check for a male lying in the road in the 100 block of East 2nd Street in Nederland. Upon arrival by first responders, the male was pronounced dead. Based on witness accounts, the deceased male appears to be the suspect in the previous night’s assault.
Emma Hall, of the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, has reported that the Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of this man. He has been positively identified as Adam Gresham of Colorado. An examination has been completed and the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
Currently, the death does not appear suspicious in nature. There does not appear to be a threat to the public.
The following agencies responded to the incidents: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Nederland Police Department, Boulder Police Department, Colorado Rangers Law Enforcement Shared Reserve, Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, AMR Ambulance, and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. The associated Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number for the original assault is 22-205. The case number for the unattended death is 22- 208.
