It is with deep sorrow that the Perry family announces the death of our beloved Susan (Susie) Bott Perry of Nederland, Colorado, who passed away peacefully on October 28, 2022, at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Susie was the loving wife of 53 years to John R Perry III (Jack), beloved mother to John Perry (Amy), Michael Perry (Andrea) and Bethany Portock (Kenneth) and adored grandmother (“Gubbie”) to Madeline and Lyla Perry, Thaddeus, Alexander and Nicholas Perry, and Emma, Caeleigh and Connor Portock.
Susie was born in Pittsburg to Margaret and John Bott on August 27, 1946. She graduated Yorktown High School in 1964 and earned a degree in Education in 1968 from Radford College. Susie was a teacher in Prince William, Culpepper, and Loudoun Counties in Virginia for 25 years where she was deeply loved by her students and colleagues.
Susie loved to read, knit, and travel, but her greatest love was her family. She especially loved singing, reading, and laughing with her grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial will be held in Virginia this coming Spring 2023.
