Dear Editor,
Have you ever met Corey Marshall? My husband and I moved to Gilpin County in November of 2021. At that time, our son, Joe, had recently graduated from college and was living with us. Joe had always had an interest in horses and reached out to Debbie and Corey Marshall to see if he could help them at Rudolph Ranch. With open arms, Corey and Debbie taught Joe all he needed to learn to be an effective helper at their ranch, while also making us feel welcomed to the community. We began seeing them at church and running into them at the Elks Lodge, and now… well, now we are friends. They have helped us with our adjustment to mountain living, embraced our adult children, and have made Gilpin County truly feel like home.
Fast forward to 2024, Corey is running for Gilpin County Commissioner, District three. When we moved to Gilpin County I was registered as an unaffiliated voter, wanting the space to choose who felt like the right choice in my heart. Having become friends with Corey and Debbie; witnessing their business acumen, experiencing their genuine kindness, hearing their desires for our county’s future, has made me confident with my decision to vote for Corey in the upcoming election. I know that if Corey is one of our elected commissioners, all will be solid and good, both now and in the future for our beloved Gilpin County.
Please make an effort to have a conversation with Corey at one of his upcoming published events. I think you too will enjoy meeting him and hearing his healthy perspective on creating a thriving rural county for us all.
Happy to live in Gilpin,
Kim Perhats
