Dear Editor,
Yes, Colorado made a big fat check in the human rights column recently by abolishing the state death penalty; now let’s let our political leaders know we expect them to be four-square behind the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, for all in the USA, and worldwide...always.
Amnesty International and its members and supporters believe there are no lesser persons, no expendable persons, no second class persons, or countries.
We know it is not just the recently reported 545 children separated from their parents at the border by Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) but innocents all over the world and in every state of the United States, whose rights need protecting. Remind your government officials at every level that human rights protection is their most sacred duty. Vote.
