How did it get to be October already? It means that the Gilpin County Food Pantry is gearing up for the holidays. They are preparing to offer the Thanksgiving meal boxes in November and the Holiday meal boxes in December.
The food pantry would greatly appreciate any and all donations you could contribute to help Gilpin County families.
To make donating easier for our always generous community we are having a drive-thru food drive. Bring your donations to the food pantry, 101 Norton Drive, Black Hawk, on November 11, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. A friendly volunteer will unload your car and you will be on your way, with a smile on your face knowing you have helped to ensure everybody has a terrific holiday.
The Gilpin Food Pantry has a wish list of: turkey breasts, roasting chickens, olives, pickles, crispy onions, dinner rolls, salad dressing, muffin mix, pancake mix, cranberries, mushroom soup, corn, and green beans.
Fresh potatoes and yams can be delivered during the food drive. If you would like to donate fresh produce you can drop it off at the pantry between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on November 18.
Thank you for helping to make this a good holiday for all.
