Dear Editor and Voters of Gilpin County,

My name is Colleen Stewart. I am your retired Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder. I served this county for 8 years. I feel the need to speak out in support of Gail Crawford for Clerk.

Gail was my Chief Deputy for the 8 years that I was clerk. She and I worked closely together to make sure all aspects of the clerk’s office ran smoothly. The clerk has a very important job that affects many aspects of your life: your vehicle title along with your license plates and tags, your property records (important in buying or selling your property), Marriage records (if you were married in Gilpin County), and your right to vote with assurance that your vote is counted.

Gail Crawford had extensive knowledge of elections and property in Gilpin County prior to becoming my Chief Deputy. She was an election judge for many years. She conducted research on many properties in her role at title companies.

Gail is running as an Unaffiliated candidate. The reason for that is the clerk MUST NOT favor one party over another in any aspect of her job especially in elections.

I URGE YOU TO VOTE for GAIL CRAWFORD FOR GILPIN COUNTY CLERK AND RECORDER.
