Karen Gerrity, Administrator, Town of Nederland. This year over 126 staff hours have been spent grading roads. In 2018 staff spent 114 hours grading roads and we are on track to double the amount of grading this year from previous years. Last year only $5000 was budgeted for road base. This year, thanks to the voter approved increase in sales tax dedicated to streets, we have over $40,000 devoted to road base. This allows staff to replenish roads that have depleted over the years. Staff is also sifting native materials to increase the amount of materials that can be put back on the roads. Several repairs have been made to School Road, Big Springs Drive and Lower Navajo. They have been stabilized and made semi-permanent with a new (environmentally friendly, non-toxic) product that was experimented with last year.
