NEDERLAND — Art is a universal language, and music is no exception. Chuck Ogsbury, founder and builder of UTE and STAR Banjos, started playing guitar. Through friendship with two talented banjo players, Ogsbury started playing banjo.
He considers himself a designer and builder. That’s what he really loves to do. Building musical instruments is rewarding because of the music involved. Designing with sound adds another dimension that he has a special interest in.
“The banjo in particular is such a wonderful instrument to work with. Its construction allows for so many possibilities - just about anything goes," shares Ogsbury.
A master luthier, he has spent more than 60 years crafting handmade banjos, with his primary shop based in Gold Hill.
Chuck Ogsbury’s creations are at Brightwood Music, 26 S Highway 119, Unit 1, Nederland, CO 80466. You can call or text Chuck at 720-480-2066 or find out more on his website at utebanjos.com
