Nederland Middle Senior High School (NMSHS) hosted a voter registration event on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, as part of Student Voter Registration Awareness Week.
Mircalla Wozniak, from the Boulder County Clerk & Recorder office, stated, “Overall, it was a great event. Lots of enthusiasm for getting registered and voting.”
Wozniak shared that the event coordinators registered 13 students that day and sent registration forms home with others. She also shared, “NMSHS, like other high schools in the area, has a designated voter registration liaison (a teacher) we get trained on helping any students or staff get registered to vote. We encourage our liaisons to promote voter registration throughout the school year. Youth as young as 16 are eligible to pre-register to vote.”
Students can also register online at GoVoteColorado.gov.
