Cherokee Blake, Gilpin County Sheriffs Office. On Sunday, September 19, 2021, Timberline was dispatched at 4:55 p.m. to a reported structure fire with extension into the surrounding wildland at a residence on Pactolus Road, across from the Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club. Colorado State Patrol had a Trooper in the area who responded. The Trooper confirmed that there was a working structure fire that was progressing rapidly into the adjacent wildland.

Timberline apparatus arrived on scene and began suppression actions, focusing first on the structures involved and then on the small wildland fire. The fire was quickly contained to the building of origin and a control line was constructed around the perimeter of the wildland fire.

The fire was declared contained at 5:30 p.m.

Timberline Fire was assisted by Gilpin County Sheriff, Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, US Forest Service, Gilpin Ambulance Authority, Gilpin County Office of Emergency Management, Nederland Fire Protection District, Golden Gate Fire Protection District, Coal Creek Fire Protection District, and Colorado State Patrol.

Timberline units will be in the area performing checks on the fire scene to extinguish any hot spots over the coming days.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
