Dear Editor,

Congratulations to Sandy! I hope that her leadership and commitment to Gilpin brings much success to our County. I want to thank the other candidates who offered to serve our community. It is not easy to put oneself out there in a public forum, so I give credit and thanks to each of them.      

I thank you for the opportunity to provide a third party option in this election. Despite the outcome for me, I think it’s critical to have options on our ballots as voting should be more than always voting along party lines. I hope that this inspires other people to get involved and stay active and alert in what’s going on in our local government and community. 

Thanks to those of you that shared your knowledge, experience, donations, and time with me on this journey. I sincerely appreciate the support and your willingness to discuss what really matters to you.

Please consider what strengths and expertise you have to share with our great community. Find ways to engage with your neighbors, volunteer, and participate in community events and local government to make Gilpin County a great example of collaboration and success.
