Dear Editor,

We had a really fun week celebrating our amazing staff at NMSHS during Staff Appreciation Week from May 4 to May 7, 2021.

To start off the week, Principal Rick Elertson and the Panther Parents PTA worked with the students to surprise the staff with a “Thank You” banner that we hung in the cafeteria for them to see on Tuesday morning. This looked great with tons of polka dots of student names!

Also, the athletic/activities department provided bagel breakfast sandwiches from Einstein’s. The staff enjoyed everything from egg and bacon deliciousness to vegetarian masterpieces. 

The Panther Parents PTA sponsored Wednesday and Thursday gifts. On Wednesday, the staff all received a bin with fun, useful and yummy things in it for them to enjoy. Gift bins were also provided to the coaches and the bus barn staff. On Thursday, we had a gift and treat day. The staff all got to pick a succulent plant and enjoy lots of delicious cookies from Crumbl Cookie. On Friday, the principal’s office sponsored Cinco de Mayo day with a Chipotle bar. Everyone could build their own Mexican favorites like nacho platters, steak burritos, and chicken tacos – yum!

The PTA would like to say a special thank you to Eldora, The Mountain-Ear, and Tungsten Toffee who all generously donated items to the wonderful gift bins for the staff. We would also like to thank those families and community members who donated time and money to support Staff Appreciation Week. You all helped us to have a wonderful week to show our staff at NMSHS how much we truly appreciate them!
