Sometimes you get a break in business. Sometimes your friends refer you and before you know it you are knee deep in a fantastic job. That is what happened to me, and Pam’s Pantiques in the last month.
I got a few messages from a few Boulder locals, and before I knew it I was in my heaven. Moldy, mousy awesomeness! This is what I love to do – put my gloves on and start picking. Funny, because when a mouse is running through my house I cannot sleep. But in the midst of a great pick, I have been known to destroy nests with my gloved hands.
I can’t get enough of secrets and treasures that someone thought to keep. There is always something for everyone. I found a buyer for some crazy old DC comics, buyers for crewel and embroidered art. Awesome Watts Hardy Dairy Boulder items (some still available). The list will go on for months.
Before I arrived at the house, three dumpsters had been loaded. (Oh, I cried a little.) Nothing like this should be left to the last minute. This was a mad rush to empty a house of treasure and because it was left as is, no one was given enough time to go through everything.
A lot of people think that whatever grandma has in the crawl space is worthless. Believe me, Grandma was no dummy. That stuff she put away is worth something. Things go to the landfills that I see people buying every day.
If you have a family that has this situation, get on it now. If you are in this situation, get on it now. You don’t have to sell anything. You just need to organize and mark it so that it won’t get thrown away. I guarantee, if you have a passion or a collection...you are not the only one. Someone else somewhere loves it too.
Don’t forget, send me your photos, ask me questions. I am here to help the community sort through its treasures completely. Email pamspantiques@gmail.com.
