Brianna Rice-Dietz, Gilpin County. There are so many small businesses that have amazing items, and Central City has some extremely cool ones. One business is Mountain Heart Gallery. The store is filled with all handmade items made by approximately 50 artists. Some of the artists even do classes such as Junk Journals, journals that are made by scraps of leftover material that is not thrown away. Absolutely everything is used for junk journals and they turn out cool. Another class is Owl Dream Catchers, which is a dream catcher that looks like an owl.
Many other classes are at the shops and some up-and-coming classes. Such as Christmas Junk Journals, Primitive Rug Hooking, Candle Making, Folded Books, Polymer Clay, and more. The store itself is super awesome to look around and knowing that everything is handmade makes it even better. It is just a small shop that was able to survive the pandemic and would make a great destination for unique finds.
Dates for classes that are already set are on Saturday’s May through July.
May 15, Fairy Gardens
May 22, Junk Journals
June 5, Flower Fairies
June 12, Decorating Jars
June 19, Owl Dream Catchers
July 10, Junk Journals
July 17, Crochet
The prices for the class are $45 to $50 and all supplies are included. All classes are at 11 a.m.
So if you are looking to go and shop or take a class consider the Mountain Heart Gallery in Central City.
I also had a chance to meet the store owner, who was able to give me so much information. She was very nice and I enjoyed chatting with her. She actually is the one who teaches the Owl Dream Catcher class. I was able to learn so much about the shop and the classes from her.
Mountain Heart Gallery is located at 115 Main Street, Central City, Colorado. They can be reached at 720-612-8734.
