Silent Disco downtown

When the community comes together, where dancing is the focus, it’s always a good time. Add in “all ages” and “free,” and we have a formula for success with a smile.

A collective of East 1st Street businesses wanted to bring back the silent disco that was raved about during Nederdays, so they pitched in to bring the second “Silent Disco Downtown - Dance Till Dark.” Igadi is the primary funder to make the event possible, by covering the costs associated with the complimentary headphones and the music that plays through them. Busey Brews and Kaleidoscope also made financial contributions, and the evening will be rounded out with their beer tent and food truck.

The DJs will appeal to a diverse set of musical preferences. You’ll be able to tune in to disco, 80s pop, house, grunge, techno, and electronica. Flip between the stations and find other dancers getting down to your same beats. The lineup of DJs in the three tents is mind bending and includes DJ Blue & GODLAZER (often called BlueLAZER), Gilpish, B-Random & Jelli (brothers who will be playing later this night at the Train Cars Coffee & Kava for another Bulla & Beats performance), and DJ Mista. Cal (Music Director at KGNU and a big believer in old school grooves).

In addition to dancing on the street until it turns dark, you’ll also get to shop to support Nederland Area Seniors. A percent of sales from Igadi, Busey Brews, Kaleidoscope Kitchen, and Mountain Goat Tees will be donated to their cause. These storefronts will be open late in support.

Look for the dancing disco bear and save the date to dance! Be sure to bring a form of ID to check out your headphones and to purchase beer.

Whether you are 8 years old or 80 years old, you will love this healthy downtown dance scene being brought to your Ned.

When? Friday, July 14, 7-10 p.m.

Where? Head down E.1st Street toward Snyder Street, see tents (all cars up on E.1st Street will be able to drive out through the parking lot)
