Less than two months after announcing her intention to run for Boulder County Commission, District 3, Elaina Shively of Lafayette has confirmed that she has qualified for the primary ballot via petition. After collecting petition signatures for weeks, the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder’s office confirmed to the campaign late on March 15 that she had secured enough verified signatures to qualify.
“Petitioning on the ballot took a lot of time, energy, and a team of volunteers, but it was entirely worth it. Not only did we collect enough signatures, but it gave me the chance to connect with so many Boulder County voters about the issues that really matter to them,” Shively says.
The campaign reported using a team of 46 volunteer petition carriers to collect signatures throughout Boulder County. They submitted over 1,900 signatures with 1,442 being confirmed by the Clerk’s office. The minimum number to qualify for the primary ballot is 1,000.
Shively added, “I want to thank our volunteer team who stuck it out through a little bit of everything, including a February snow storm, to ensure we got the signatures needed.”
