Samuel S Boswell

Sara Sandstrom, Nederland. Samuel S. Boswell is an outdoorsy, hardworking young man. He might have worked on your vehicle at one of the local mechanics, helped you reach something on a shelf at ACE or you might have seen him fly fishing in Boulder Creek.

Samuel is graduating from Nederland High School on May 24, 2021. He started his time in Nederland schools as a preschooler. He says that his mom did a good job of keeping him in Nederland schools even though they moved around the area.

Covid has been hard on all students the last two years, especially the graduates like Samuel. Some of that fun and closure of the senior year is lost. Despite the challenges Samuel has very much enjoyed biology with Mr. Real and the fish and wildlife management class with Ms. Colton. He also played soccer for the Panthers while in high school.

When asked if he has any advice for younger students Samuel says, “Keep your nose clean, your head high, follow your goals and you’ll do just fine.” I believed these are words Samuel follows himself.

Last year Samuel was employed at the East Street Garage. He has been working at ACE Hardware the last several months. In June he will be working as a professional fly fishing instructor for the Lincoln Hills Cares program and as an extra guide for the Lincoln Hills Guiding services.

As he finishes up his senior year at Nederland High School Samuel is getting his EMT Certification as well as his Swift Water Raft Rescue, Wilderness Survival and Rescue Certification. All this to have his dream career of being a professional fly fisherman.

This is not just a dream in the far off future. Samuel is serious and extremely talented. Terry Bergin says, “Amazing young fisherman. He is bringing the sport of fly fishing to a new level. He fishes with two fly rods at once. He buys a second rod stamp for his fishing license so he is completely compliant. If Sam isn’t fishing with two fly rods at once then he doesn’t fish!”

Samuel has not gotten to where he is today alone. He credits some special people in his life; his parents Megan Boswell and Jeremy Meyers, also Dustin Mastro and Terry and Matt Bergin.

We hope his passion and skill for fly fishing, fly tying and guiding others in fly fishing takes Samuel wherever he dreams of going.

Brady Hamilton

Sara Sandstrom, Nederland. Brady Hamilton is one of the graduates in Nederland High School’s Class of 2021.

Like many of his classmates, Brady has been in Nederland schools for many years. Brady started at 1 Sundown Trail (Nederland Elementary School) as a Kindergartener.

At Nederland High School Brady was a 360 Leader. He graduated early and started attending Front Range Community College for medical coding.

Brady says that he looks up to his parents as they have been his encouragement and support. In high school he really enjoyed the classes he took with Mr. Nelson, Mr. Real and Mr. Geels. Overall, he appreciated the teachers at NHS and loved meeting his friend Shayna Beckham.

When asked what advice he would give to students going to Nederland High School he says, “Do your work on time and the teachers will respect you.”

Brady looks forward to buying a house someday and living on his own. Your community hopes all the best for you, Brady. Congratulations on your graduation.
