COAL CREEK CANYON — Santa Claus visited the Coal Creek Canyon Improvement Association Hall on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m. to meet with area kids. He came again on Saturday, December 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to cuddle with pets.
On December 13, Santa, dressed in red velvet, boots, and with his white flowing beard, arrived in a fire truck. Hall Manager Suzy Schemel said that about 40 kids attended the event. Counting their parents, about 75 people attended.
“The kids had a really good time,” she said. They had letters to Santa, cocoa with whipped cream and lots of cookies. “It was really fun.”
On December 20, Santa sat in the main room in the hall. Guests had signed up in advance for a time slot, and then they and their pets entered the room from the kitchen, one person and pet at a time.
CCCIA Board member Shelly Peters-Schaller organized the event. About 20 people signed up to bring their pets to see Santa Claus.
The next events at the hall will be the Chili Challenge, on January 24, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and the Valentine’s Pancake Breakfast on February 14.
