Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. The Nederland Panther football team travelled to Vail Friday night to take on the Saints and headed home with a 12-48 loss.
The Saints scored 24 unanswered points in the first half. Nederland sparked in the third quarter when Christian McClain scored on a 14-yard run. The two-point conversion was no good. Vail scored 16 points.
The Panthers scored again in the fourth quarter when Quinn Kuechenmeister caught a 21-yard pass from quarterback Mike Wood.
Nederland now has a 1-2 record. They will play the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles, who also have a 1-2 record. The Eagles lost to the Gilpin County Eagles, 20-12, earlier in the season.
The Panthers will play another night away game on Friday, September 18th at 7 p.m.
