Dave Gibson, Nederland. The Nederland High School Loquations performed the national anthem before the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. start times at the Ned*Ned Half Marathon, 10K and 5K held at TEENS, Inc. Saturday, September 7, 2019.
A meandering course through Nederland to Eldora and back challenged runners of all ages and skill levels. On a cool morning conducive for running, Bobby Peavey, of Boulder, made quick work of the Half Marathon, leaving the other competitors in the dust. His time of 1:24:55 was almost ten minutes faster than his closest competitor.
Amanda Lee, from Denver, was the first woman to cross the finish line. Most marathoners agreed that the course was fun and the trails challenging.

Patrick Lannen took the 10K in 00:40:20 at a pace of six-and-a-half-minute miles. In the 5K race, girls in capes, babies in strollers and dogs joined in on the fun. Eighteen-year-old Scout Edmondson won top honors in the 5K.
Net proceeds from the event were donated to TEENS, Inc., which supports programs such as Chinook West alternative high school where their “mission is to promote and support each student’s educational goals and life aspirations. We have an unending belief that with support, guidance and encouragement people can preserve and change the course of their lives for the better, despite potentially challenging and difficult circumstances.”
