Dear Editor,
The Allenspark Run Like the Wind is back for its 12th year. Sponsored by The Old Gallery, Allenspark’s community center and art gallery, the family friendly 5k race /dog jog and 2k non-competitive walk/dog walk will be held Saturday August 31, 2024. Both events begin in the heart of Allenspark, Colorado, with the 5k starting at 9 a.m. and the non-competitive 2k walk starting at 9:10 a.m.
This scenic, high altitude, rolling course is run on mostly dirt roads amid the pine forests near Rocky Mountain National Park. It offers amazing views of the high mountain peaks of the area. More information and previous year’s race photos can be found on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RunLikeTheWind5K/.
Registration is available online at GetMeRegistered.com - https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_ information.php?event_ id=139463.
Race day registration will open at 7 a.m. at the Old Gallery. Race packet includes a commemorative cap with race logo, refreshments, awards and prizes for the top 3 male/female/nonbinary in age categories in addition to the top 3 overall winners.
For participants and their pooch, there will be chances to compete in some whimsical dog competitions after the events. In addition, the event has opportunities for individuals and companies alike to be included as sponsors with publicity and promotion.
Please contact Events Coordinator Rene Goodman at rene@theoldgallery.org for sponsorship opportunities.
