Though quiche is generally said to have derived in the Lorraine region of France, the region was under the rule of the German kingdom of Lothringen, so you pick whether your quiche is German or French. Nonetheless, it’s delicious!
Crust Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup flour
1 stick butter, cut into thin slices
1 teaspoon salt
Up to 1/4 cup cold water
Directions:
In a food processor, add flour, chopped-up butter, and salt.
Pulse a few times to start incorporating butter.
Start adding cold water a little at a time, then pulse.
Bring dough together just barely.
Take out and put onto a clean counter top to bring together with your hands.
Roll out to fit the pie pan.
Fit into your pie pan and refrigerate.
Custard/Filling Ingredients:
2 cups heavy cream
4 eggs
Salt
Directions:
Whisk together well until fully incorporated.
Remaining Ingredients:
Avoid watery veggies.
4-6 oz chevre (goat cheese)
Asparagus 1 cups-sliced asparagus and mushrooms
2 cups sliced morels or any variety of mushroom
Directions:
Sautee thinly sliced veggies in a little bit of butter (mushrooms may need more to prevent. burning as they soak it up).
Salt and pepper to taste.
Let veggies cool and then place them onto the crust.
Crumble chevre on top (or whatever cheese you prefer).
Pour egg mixture over all the ingredients.
Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours.
