Our small businesses in Nederland have taken a financial hit during these hard times due to Covid. 

I have been getting my hair cut for the last two years by Holly Phillips whose shop is The Hair Studio on East 2nd Street. I have been very happy and satisfied with each cut. Holly charges very reasonable prices and it is a godsend to have her here rather than going to Boulder, where the cost is much more. She has been meticulous in making the shop safe during this pandemic. 

Recently I was made aware of a local person who posted a very negative review on Facebook on Holly after one haircut she was unhappy with. Not only is she wrong, in my opinion, about the services that Holly provides but it seems a very cruel way to speak out about her experience. This person never spoke to Holly about her experience in person but decided to post her negative opinion on social media which had much more of an impact. 

Let’s all be kind to our small businesses who desperately need our patronage. This is a time to be caring and understanding not to be negative and downright cruel. Be careful how you use social media to attack others. Support our local businesses rather than tearing them down.
