Some words for the week
worries about wildfires
and war and genocide
and bad bosses
and the too fast passing
of all the days I want to
hold still
and so much dying
and not enough living
and taxes and bills
and dreams
I may have to give up on
and yet as I fill the tank

in the gas station concrete
and spilled diesel
on the water’s surface
is a rainbow shine
in the thin sun
