“Some Words for the Week”
On single digit nights like these
in the bath with the lights off
with the window cracked
the condensation freezing
into webs of frost on the glass
the moon halved and high
there’s no wind and no sound
and the snow is solid ice
and the silent hands of the gods
hold up the whole world
so perfectly still
and everything shines
in the greyscale shafts
of moon rock echoed sun
