Peter Mulvey to play Aspen Meadows

Greg Ching, Boulder County

Ellis Paul introduced us to Peter Mulvey several years ago. We liked him so much we invited Peter back for his own show. And when folk singer Antje Duvekot told me Peter talked her on one of his annual tours via bicycles (carrying their instruments) we liked him even more. He's played here a few times and every performance has been solid. At our last show with Peter one enthusiastic fan invited between one and two dozen friends! And this was before I implemented the 4-or-more-one-reservation one free Watsu policy.

Singer-songwriter Peter Mulvey injects a contemporary edginess into his writing, distilling funk, folk, and rock influences into songs that are dark, quirky, lyrical, and ethereal. The Wisconsin native’s superb, bass-heavy guitar stylings, his compelling, gravelly voice, and his striking blend of ironic wit and earnest passion all shine through in his resonant songs. As the Boston Globe put it, ‘Peter Mulvey is all substance, which is his style”.
