pp soccer 1 Marni Siegal, Nederland.  Peak to Peak Youth Soccer (Peak Soccer), a Teens Inc. Recreational Program, is heading into its 18th year.  The 2016 season will start the week of August 15 with practices at the Nederland Elementary School fields.  Youth aged 5 (or entering kindergarten) to 11 (6th grade) are invited to join.  Six games will be played between three mountain leagues pulling players from Gilpin County, Clear Creek County (Idaho Springs) and Nederland.  Games will start on August 27th and continue through mid-October.

Some changes to Peak Soccer this year include a new coordinator, new prices and a change to the game schedule.  The league is being coordinated this year by Marni Siegal, who is contracted with Teens Inc. to oversee program operations.  Marni co-coordinated the league during the 2015 season with long-time coordinator Tracy Brewer and has already begun getting things in place for the 2016 season.

To help off-set the increase in the cost of Peak Soccer jerseys, which are required for all players, the cost of registration has decreased by $5 per player.  In addition, head coaches will now receive 50% off the registration fee for the player whose team she or he will be coaching.  Please contact Marni before registering your player if you are interested in coaching.

This year, Nederland will host games the same day as the Ned-Ned race, Teens Inc’s. fundraiser.  For that one game day, Sept. 10th, games will happen in the afternoon instead of the morning.  By holding games after the race, soccer families from all three leagues will be able to participate in the race.

Peak Soccer relies heavily on parent volunteers to provide everything from coaching and snacks to field lining, refereeing, concessions and overall coordination.  This community consistently steps up and all the jobs get completed.  Fundraising from concession sales and support from Teens Inc. allows Peak Soccer to offer limited scholarships.  Please contact Marni to inquire about these first come, first serve scholarships.
