The Peak to Peak Chamber of Commerce has two volunteer vacancies for their Board of Directors. The three-year term will begin in June 2024 and expire in June 2027.

The Chamber originated in 2023 to serve the Peak to Peak region. The mission is to preserve the competitive enterprise system of business by creating a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of businesspeople and a concern for their problems; fostering business growth and development through economic programs designed to strengthen and expand the income potential of all businesses.

Board member responsibilities include: attending board meetings and events, maintaining the vision and mission of the Chamber, monitoring and managing financial responsibilities, serving on committees, recruiting new members, organizing and planning for short-term and long-term goals, utilizing talents and skills, ensuring legal compliance and maintaining an ethical reputation for the organization. The Board meets quarterly in person and online monthly meetings in between.

The Chamber is seeking board members who will help broaden and expand the current board, and is particularly interested in people with expertise in legal, fundraising, leadership development, business expansion, volunteer activism, cultural resources and community resources

Interested parties should send a letter of interest to include your professional background, other volunteer positions you have held, degrees or educational experience, your interaction with the Chamber, your alignment with the mission statement and what skills or expertise you can bring to the position. Attendance to the May board meeting on May 2, 2024, at 6 p.m. to present your interest is strongly encouraged. The meeting will be at The Mountain-Ear office, 98 W. 1st Street, Nederland.

The letter of interest should be sent to director@peaktopeakchamber.org by April 25, 2024. The new members will be voted in at the June 6, 2024, board meeting.
