BLACK HAWK - Often I find myself wondering about love. I can't imagine there is anyone out there who doesn't ponder this. There are so many kinds of love. Love of a parent, a child, a friend, a lover, a spouse, a beloved pet and more. This week, when thinking about Valentine's Day, I think of the people in my life who have impacted me in some profound way. So I'm gonna mention some of them here and call it a short column, to make space for an announcement of a dear friend's memorial service.
I am lucky to be in my thirty-ninth year living here in this beautiful region. I want to say thank you for all of the love I get from the community overall. To the friendships I have made (and even those lost), I am thankful.
Thank you to my sweet husband for over fourteen years of friendship, love, compassion, understanding and support. Many thanks to each of my kids for their love and the life they have shared with me, as well as teaching me boundaries and sharing me with your spouses and significant others. Gratitude to my mom and dad, and their spouses, and for always being supportive and caring, loving and sharing with me. Thank you to the many (many) animals that have blessed my life.
And special thanks to our TEAM at the newspaper for keeping it real, fun, optimistic and ever changing in positive ways.
I hope Valentine's Day finds you thinking of some positive moment of life that has made you happy and you share your love with others on this special day.
