NEDERLAND — Here it is again: election season. Well, local municipal elections, anyway.
Nederland's election is a small one. There are two candidates for Mayor: Billy Giblin and Nichole Sterling. There are two candidates for three open seats on the Board of Trustees: Andrew Joslin and Matthew Kennedy.
The Mountain-Ear created candidate profiles for each. We also held a candidate forum at the Nederland Community Library, in order to meet each candidate in person. All of the information is below.

Ballots will be accepted at the following locations from March 16 through Election Day, April 7
Town Hall: Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding weekends and holidays) 45 West First Street, Nederland, Colorado 80466
Nederland Community Center Ballot Box: Open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week 750 Highway 72 , Nederland, Colorado 80466
By Mail : P.O. Box 396 , Nederland, Colorado 80466
On Election Day, April 7, ballots will also be accepted at the following locations:
Town Hall: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 45 West First Street , Nederland, Colorado 80466
Nederland Community Center Ballot Box: Open until 7 p.m. 750 Highway 72 , Nederland, Colorado 80466
Nederland Community Center Multipurpose Room: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 750 Highway 72 , Nederland, Colorado 80466
Ballots must be returned in the official return envelope provided, the back of the envelope must be signed, and ballots must be received by the Town Clerk at the above address by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 (Election Day) in order for your vote(s) to be counted. Ballots may be mailed in the return envelope or deposited at the Office of the Town Clerk.
Ballots received after 7 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted. Postmarks do not count as a received date.
