Peak Perspectives: Reminders

Posted

No words of wisdom from me this week. I enjoyed my time with my family over the weekend. I worked hard to layout this paper and today, I’ll go pick them up at the printer. Next week I’ll have a lot more for you.

One quick note. I do want to say thanks to the Town of Nederland and Gilpin County for this:

Sponsored by Gilpin County Commissioners, with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act.

Sponsored by the Town of Nederland, with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act.

With the ability to cover every business in both communities (at our discretion), we have shared dozens of stories with you this year. Stories that otherwise may have gone untold. A full report of all businesses covered will be included in the January 5, 2023, edition.

The Mountain-Ear wants to get YOUR information out to the entire community! To share information about upcoming events, please submit your event to info@themountainear.com. You can submit a flier, which we can share in print and online. We have the lowest ad rates in the entire region and offer discounts for nonprofits and schools too!

To have an event covered, send in a request so we can assign a reporter. IF you have a parent, teacher or community member who can cover events, even better! We LOVE community journalism coverage from members of the school, local organizations, and even from Town or County government. It helps us stay connected to every aspect of the Peak to Peak region. And, we pay for this coverage. We currently have several paid positions open at The Mountain- Ear (see our classified ad on page 38).

We’d love to attend a meeting of your school or organization. Please send us info on the time and place of the next few meetings.

Online subscriptions are currently just $50 per year. That’s less than $1 per week. Print subscriptions range from $70 to $100 per year (in-state local to out-of-state). Subscriptions will go up January 1, 2023. You can subscribe online here: https://www.themtnear.com/register/summer-special-1-year- online-for-40/.

If you are already a print subscriber to The Mountain-Ear, email us and we will get you set up for a free online subscription (included in your print subscription).

If you’re not a subscriber, we’ll get you set up for a FREE 30 day trial. Trial subscriptions are sponsored by local people and businesses that support The Mountain-Ear and want to make sure you have access to the ONLY locally owned and operated newspaper that covers the entire Peak to Peak region. We are working hard to get you your news. And, we don’t want you to miss a thing!

Friends, in case you’re thinking of eating out… check out this link for info about local dining and drinking establishments. We cover the entire Peak to Peak region with a bit of information on where to be and what to see at https://www.themtnear.com/ articles/peak-to-peak-dining-drinks- and-entertainment/.
