This week I am stressing about stories. I have four stories I have been working on for a few weeks, and even a few months. These are stories that I will not call time-sensitive. They can be run at any time. Regardless, they are promises I have made, thus far unfulfilled. And that causes me anxiety. Because I know I will see some of these folks around town on this beautiful Memorial Day weekend. Then I feel disappointed in myself, for not getting things wrapped up in a timely manner.
The reality is, I signed up for too many things. And I take on too many projects. And then I have to prioritize, causing some of these stories I really WANT to do, to be lowered on my priority list. Which is not what I want to see happen. I want to have enough time to write the stories I am passionate about, which is really the only story I “like” writing about.
So this is my apology to those waiting those finished stories. I am, slowly, working on them. I am working on a VFW story. I am working on a young entrepreneur story. I am working on a Farmer’s Market story. And this week, I am working on a very small wrap up of the last High Country Auxiliary fundraiser. And this is also my “thank you” for hanging in there while I figure out my time and how to get all of this done more efficiently.
After that, I am taking a break from writing and focusing more on design and layout, covering live events and gathering more content for the Podcast. Summer is there, and amazingly that means I will be busier than ever.
