Hello friends and neighbors! This week has been an exceptionally busy week, but the thing I am looking forward to most is the Gilpin County Fair. The Mountain-Ear has a booth and we love sitting and talking with each of you. Join us for a few. We will be handing out media kits, Taste of the Peaks publications, free newspapers, and more. We’ll also be sharing our space with Brightwood Music, so you can sit and pick a ukulele, strum a guitar, check out a few of our violins, or just grab some picks or a new tuner. We’re right over by the edge of the arena, upstairs in the red tent near the log splitting contest.
Besides the newspaper, I’ve been busy learning my role as a member at large of the newly formed Peak to Peak Chamber of Commerce. We meet monthly for a social, and a couple times each month for board meetings. This fits right in with my role on the Nederland DDA. And I’ll soon be exploring another option to network with businesses in another one of our communities. Watch for “new news” of that soon.
At work, we are working hard on our Studio Tour in September and I’m so excited to have so many artists signing up. It’s free to be included for all artists’ studios in the Peak to Peak. Studios that want to have expanded coverage can purchase a sponsorship, which includes various size ads. We’d love to have you participate. For more information, check out https://www.themtnear.com/peak-topeak studio-tour-2023/
This week on our podcast, we have music mentions, segments with Adam Pause of the NoGo Gilbillies, and Nederland Feed, Nederland Area Seniors, Wildflowers of Colorado, and more! Our Everybody’s Listening podcast is shared online every Monday. The latest is right here: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1583656.rss
This week, enjoy a business story about the new owner at Acme Septic. Did you know, you can submit your business profile (FREE) here: https://www.themtnear.com/business-short-takes/.
