Wow, what a week this has been, and it’s only Tuesday. I’m writing this on Tuesday night, when my brain is a bit foggy. So hang in there with me. Today, I woke up to an intense morning and I’m a bit tired now at 11 p.m. So a lot of this is a repeat. My apologies.
I want to recognize an amazing emergency response team from Boulder in an early morning incident. I know times have been questioned a bit by locals, but Boulder County Sheriff and counterparts showed up in record time in Nederland to de-escalate a serious situation that was happening. For that I am thankful.
Last week we delivered papers on Thursday, after one of our staff had to leave for a family emergency. When this happens, we work hard to make sure every single place gets their copies, but if we missed you, I’m sorry. Always feel free to email or call me to get papers dropped off. I’m across the Peak to Peak every week, from Allenspark to Central City. We’ve got you covered.
This week Hayden and Polina will be delivering again, so look for them Wednesday and Thursday on all routes (we have 4 total). They may be delivering for a few weeks, so make sure to say hello when you see them!
We are working hard on our Studio Tour in September and I’m so excited to have so many artists and studios signing up. It’s free to be included. Studios that want to have expanded coverage can purchase a sponsorship, which includes various size ads. We’d love to have you participate. For more information, check out https://www.themtnear.com/peak-topeak studio-tour-2023/
This week on our podcast, we have music mentions, segments with Deb D’Andrea about the Bizarre Cat Bazaar, an interview with Susan Green about 4th Friday Art Walk and more! Our Everybody’s Listening podcast is shared online every Monday. The latest is right here: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1583656.rss.
This week, we have a new business story about the Rick Thomas Distillery, opening in Black Hawk. These are all stories that stemmed out of the last 3 years of Covid coverage when we decided to make sure every business story of the region was told. We covered Nederland and Gilpin through our Keep it Local series (funded through ARPA). And we covered northwest Boulder County and businesses of the canyons through our Rebuilding Business of the Peak to Peak series (partially funded through #newsCOneeds, the Local News Fund and other small grants). Did you know, you can submit your business profile (FREE) here: https://www.themtnear.com/ business-short-takes/.
