Dear Editor,
It is with great pleasure that I announce our successful March 30 fundraising event “Feed the Mountains,” hosted by Busey Brews, with a portion of their evening sales donated to the Nederland Food Pantry.
If you missed the event, it was cozy and classy. The evening air filled with romantic music by singer/songwriter Anna Cutler, who was briefly joined by Mike Cutler, a lovely family duo. Between sets, Brigitte Mars offered an engaging, informative discussion about eating for the seasons; along with how eating certain foods help your body – eat kidney beans to support your kidneys! The silent auction offered unique items, like two hand carved birds by Scott Harrison, visionary of Nederland’s Carousel of Happiness.
We thank those of you who joined us, in this first of many events. Our silent auction alone raised more than $1,186.50 in two hours! Thank you! Our second fundraising event will be in June, follow us on Instagram, Facebook or sign up for our email list to get the scoop. If you would like to donate, or get involved, please reach out and let us know! (Donation link: https:// nederlandfoodpantry.org/donations/)
For 2024, the Team will be rolling out a new name, Peak Abundance; representing the Nederland Food Pantry, Clothing Closet and Community Gardens under one moniker. We will continue serving the Peak-to-Peak Region just as before, as a non-profit for the people; but now as Peak Abundance. Our new name represents our goals for supporting our community, with abundance for all.
Many thanks to Busey Brews, Family Reiki, Anonymous, Parmita Pushman, Creekside Coffee Roasters, Smoker Friendly, James Dewalt Photography, Salto, Decent Bagel/Sweet Sue’s, Nature’s Own, Jake Kaiser, Brigitte Mars, Scott Harrison, and others who so generously donated their time and to the silent auction.
Busey Brews April 18, 2024, Trivia Night will also support Peak Abundance with a portion of sales donation.
Thanks to all who joined us in making this first 2024 event a huge success! We will see you in June!
Cheers,
Deb D’Andrea
