The town of Nederland wants voices from across the Peak to Peak area to make their opinions heard. Through the Envision process, individuals can share their thoughts on how the community can improve and help set goals for the town to reach over the next decade. The last time Envision was utilized was in the Envision 2020 process, implemented in 2010. The process created goals for Nederland to reach by the end of 2020. Since December 2020, the town has been preparing to collect community statements for Envision 2030, which will help create goals for Nederland through 2030.
The most prominent way the town has pushed the process across the Peak to Peak area is by encouraging people to visit the town website and read vision statements developed from community feedback. Individuals can rate these vision statements based on whether they agree or disagree with them and give feedback as to how they can be improved. The town has been able to reach out to over 200 people to gather their opinions to improve the community, but Miranda Fisher, Nederland Deputy Town Administrator and Town Clerk, wants as many members of the Peak to Peak area to weigh in as possible. That way, the vision statements meant to improve Nederland are meaningful to the majority, if not the entirety, of the community. Having grown up in Nederland, she loves the unique charm and culture of the small town, and she believes that community engagement is an important part of keeping that charm alive.
Nederland is collecting data for the survey until July 9th, 2021, and hopes to approve the final vision statements by August 2021. If you want to engage in improving your community, go to https:// nederlandco.org/envision-2030/ and fill out the survey located at the top of the webpage.
