The Nederland High School Panthers were outscored in the second quarter of their away game against the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles on Friday night, and they were beaten up in the course of the game, with four Panthers injured before the game ended.

A final score of 47-33 doesn't reflect the competitive play in the rest of the game. The Panthers were down by four points at the end of the first quarter but then the Eagles scored 28 points in the second quarter, going into halftime with a 34-8 lead. Outscoring the Eagles 25-13 in the second half couldn't make up the deficit for the Panthers and the loss brought them to a 2-2 record for the season.

Jaylan Rasdall, at quarterback, had a great game completing 19 of 38 passes for 405 yards and connecting with Trig Campbell for three touchdowns; Rasdall carried the ball 15 times for 97 yards and 1 touchdown.

Trig Campbell received nine passes for 177 yards and four touchdowns.

Jean Luc Pineau caught passes, recovered fumbles and returned kickoffs and punts, and he also got in on the tackles.

There are only two more games in the season; Friday, September 30, 2016 was an away game against Dove Creek, an overnighter; and the last game is at home on Saturday, October 29, against Del Norte at 1 p.m.
