Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. In last week’s home game against the Twin Peaks Timberwolves, the Nederland High School Panthers lost 15-49, giving them a 1-5 record. The Ned boys are scrambling to get a foothold on the court, playing hard, but not finding their pattern in the game.
They are a talented bunch of players with incredible determination. The first period began with a successful free throw by Damon Vigil, but his one point had to stand up against the Timberwolves’ 16 points. Taylor Hoffman scored in the second period and the half ended with a 3-27 score.
Twin Peaks’ defense stopped any Panther attempt to score in the third period, but the Ned boys rallied in the fourth period, scoring 10 points in a great comeback effort. Both Taylor Hoffman and Damon Vigil scored three-pointers and picked up field goals, playing proud to the end of the game.
