At Friday’s slalom meet at Copper Mountain, both the Nederland High School girls’ and boys’ teams took first place. The Panthers faced tough competition against Battle Mountain, Durango and Summit County, but skied smart on a fast course.

It was a cold day, but Nederland skiers were hot and knew even before they saw the results that they could celebrate being on top.

Coach Jonathan Damon says, “Leading the team to victory were our point-scoring fastest three racers on each team: Emily Creek, Delaney Pratt, Audrey De Fries, Alden Soto, Reece Titus and Talus Lantz. Six Ned racers were in the top 20. This was an impressive showing by the Panthers as we head into the second half of our regular season.” Emily Creek placed first overall for the girls.
