Nederland Community Presbyterian Church (aka Ned Pres) is inviting the community to join in an outdoor worship service Sunday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at Chipeta Park, led by the Rev. Zach Hancock. A Community BBQ and Potluck in the Chipeta Park Pavilion will follow the service at 11:30 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. The church is providing hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and tableware. Games with prizes for all ages are also planned in addition to a DJ.
The church takes the “community” part of its name to heart. Just this summer the church has helped sponsor and support the Teddy Bear Tea at The Gillaspie House and the Ned Gravel Race, held a teen movie night, participated in the Nederland July 4 Parade, and offered a community mural project, art exhibition and reception and candlelight concert as part of the Nederland Day of Art. In addition, church members spent a Saturday sprucing up the grounds of the Nederland Cemetery and several members provided home maintenance and other assistance to local residents in need.
The church meets for family and pet-friendly worship each Sunday at 10 a.m. at 210 N. Jefferson Street on the Peak to Peak Highway in Nederland. All are welcome. For more information visit nederlandpres.org.
