This holiday season, we are delighted to bring the Boulder and Longmont communities together to celebrate the return of the Nutcracker and offer some much-needed joy. The Boulder Ballet and Longmont Symphony Orchestra will team up this year to perform the Nutcracker and make a positive impact on our community throughout Covid times. Collectively our organizations have been impacting the arts in Colorado for over a century.

It’s because of our wonderful patrons, who rallied to raise the funds, that we are able to bring the Nutcracker to our communities this year. By doing so, they helped create an opportunity for over fifty children that have trained hard to culminate this festive performance.

Twelve year old Lexi Zeilbeck, a lifetime Gilpin County resident, has been involved in the Boulder Ballet School since 2018. In 2018 and 2019 she auditioned and was cast as a mouse in The Nutcracker Ballet. Due to covid last year she was not able to audition. This brings us to 2021 and after her auditions for The Nutcracker Ballet she has been cast as a Soldier and a Color Guard, along with many other talented student and company dancers.

Amelia Thomas has been taking ballet since she was 4 years old and with Boulder Ballet School from the age of 6. This is Amelia’s fifth Nutcracker.

We hope you’ll join us from December 3 – 5 to experience this magical treat for the entire family, at the Vance Brand Auditorium in Longmont. This classic tradition is the perfect way to begin your holiday season. The program is 75 minutes long and will be performed without intermission.
