Barbara Lawlor, Nederland. Those who arrived early at the Nederland Middle Senior High School December Choir Concert last week were treated to all of the choirs singing the Carol of the Bells: sixth grade through Loquations. All of those voices made
glorious music and they were just warming up. The real performance of the entire choir was the finale of the show.
The concert began with Emily Curcio and Hayley Turner singing “In His Eyes,” which they had performed for the Thespian Conference.
The sixth-eighth grade choir sang a happy, boisterous rendition of “Best Day of My Life.”
No Grinches survived the spirit of the middle school singers.
Bringing back memories to the parents in the audience, the Festival Choir performed, “Drift Away.”

Mariah Ingram was the soloist in the Loquations’ “My Immortal,” lifting her clear, strong voice to the harmonies of the choir.
When all the choirs had performed, they gathered on stage, all 80 of them, and under the guidance of director Liz Evans, lifted their voices in harmony to the finale which brought the audience to their feet.
