Sara Sandstrom-Kobi, Nederland. Principal Rick Elertson and the teachers and staff at Nederland Middle Senior High School welcomed two new teachers this year. Anna Campbell teaches math and Nic Stader teaches physical education and wellness.
Ms. Campbell is from Littleton, CO, and graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in engineering physics. She then took education classes through the University of Northern Colorado to be certified to teach secondary math and science.
This is her second year teaching. At NMSHS Ms. Campbell is teaching sixth grade math, compacted 7/8 math and advanced algebra I. So far, Ms. Campbell is impressed with the kindness of her students and how excited they are to learn. She says that the best part of teaching is the kids.
When not teaching Ms. Campbell likes to swing dance, watch movies, read and travel. She is a huge fan of Harry Potter and has a pet hedgehog named Dodger.

Nic Stader is teaching physical education and wellness at NMSHS. Mr. Stader is from Iowa and received his BA in physical education and health from the University of Northern Iowa.
He did his student teaching in Colorado Springs and was hoping to stay in Colorado. When Mr. Elertson called offering the position to him he took the opportunity to teach in Nederland.
Mr. Stader loves teaching physical education. He says that his goal is to get kids moving at a young age and encourage good health habits for life. He wants kids to find a physical activity that is fun for them. Be it yoga or running or biking, anything to get kids moving.
In the winter and spring he will become Coach Stader as he plans on coaching boys basketball and track and field.
Mr. Stader has found the staff at NMSHS to be extremely helpful as he makes his way through his first year teaching.
He loves to be active himself with running, weight training and Crossfit. Mr. Stader is really enjoying Colorado and the active lifestyle here.
We welcome both Ms. Campbell and Mr. Stader to Nederland Middle High School and the Nederland community.
