It’s time once again for the annual spring musical from Nederland Middle-Senior High School. This year, the school will be performing the iconic show Guys and Dolls, written in 1950 by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. The story follows a gang of New York crapshooters who clash between illegal rounds of gambling and winning the love of their doll. Packed with sharp comedy, catchy melodies, and an animated cast, Guys and Dolls will not cease to disappoint.
The show features many impressive dance and song numbers, which the actors have triumphed in learning, to deliver an exciting, comedic, and entertaining performance. The directors of the show Elizabeth Evans, Susan Blurton, Ki Goodman, Angela Delsanter and Alison Bagli deserve acclamation, too, for their outstanding dedication to Nederland’s musical theater.
The show stars Kyler Rabourn, Skylar Abookire, Annabel Ivey, Townes Bakke, Eric Thurston, Ben Weber, Noah Turner, Ben Nichols, Aiden Cleveland, Mason Ivey, Rowan Harper, Zach Weiner, Blue Garcia-Paine, Maggie Lake, Ande Hammers, Amika Begin, Sierra Tomlinson, Aya Pelkhum-Donahue, Lucy Schalz, Natalie Taylor, Hazel Kelley, Lola Kelley, Haven Vernon, Eliza Moore, Tyler Goodnow, Kyle King, Oscar Shrum, and Ben Brodsky, with Schalz and Lake serving as dance captains.
The show will be performed opening weekend on April 21, 22, and 23, 2022 at 7 p.m. with an additional April 23 matinee at 1 p.m. It will be performed for a second weekend on April 29 and 30, 2022, at 7 p.m. with an additional April 30 matinee at 1 p.m.
