The students at Nederland Elementary Preschool enjoyed a party before school went on winter break for two weeks. Teachers Emily Barth, Debbie Garrison, and Tanja Dewart and community liaison Johnnie Lafaiver organized the festivities for the morning and afternoon classes. Parents were invited to attend.
The students loved decorating gingerbread cookies with frosting and sprinkles. More frosting may have been eaten than used in decorating the cookies – but that is all part of the fun of holiday cookie decorating.
Each student brought one of their favorite books from home. As they sat down, a parent or one of the teachers read to them. It was also a special day because it was pajama day in preschool.
Then, it was time to dance! The preschoolers danced to some of their favorite songs. How fun to watch such uninhibited joy!
The students ended 2022, a semester of learning, and had a holiday party to celebrate. Both teachers and students will come back in 2023 refreshed and ready to learn some more.
