Larissa Reinhardt, Nederland. I wanted to let you and the great people of our little town of Nederland know that the TEENS, Inc. Board participated in a Ned*Ned “race” of our own today (Sunday, August 16). A bunch of the board met up (along with TEENS, Inc. Executive Director Stephen LeFaiver, and Development Director Sue Churches) after registering on-line, to participate in a self-monitored 5K-39.3M walk or run. We walked the path along Barker Reservoir (starting and ending at TEENS, Inc.) and kept socially distanced and wore our masks. It was so great seeing each other in real-life!! Virtual hugs were aplenty when we met up, and we were able to catch-up on the happenings of our lives while we walked.
I encourage others to register and pick a day and time to walk or run before the Sept 12 deadline of this “virtual” type “race.” Though we won’t be able to have a real race together this year due to COVID, it is good for everyone’s health to get outside for a bit, get some exercise and vitamin D, and support such a great organization.
